How cool is this?  Today we had light drizzle with a temp of about 33-34F.  We sat on the ramp with the engines at idle power for about an hour.  I guess the low pressure in the inlet lowered the temperature to freezing and we got these amazing formations.  I’d have to think if we had much more than idle power these couldn’t have formed.  I’ve never seen anything like this.

Some insight into making a career change into aviation:  Thaddeus and I met at Flight Safety Academy in Vero Beach, FL in 2000.  We were participating in their Fast Track program which prepared us for jobs with the regional airlines.  In May of 2001, we were hired by Atlantic Southeast Airlines (now called Express Jet).  After 6 years, Thaddeus upgraded to captain and two years later, was hired by ANA.  After 4 years at ANA, he upgraded to captain on the Boeing 767.  Not a bad career path for our buddy who didn’t even get started as a pilot until he was in his 30’s.

We want your input! We are planning another fly out in the coming 1-2 months, and want your help choosing the destination. Under consideration are: a weekend day trip to Oklahoma, to spend a few hours at a casino OR Brenham, TX for a weekday tour of the Blue Bell ice cream factory. (Note: tours are weekdays only, so this trip would be Mon-Fri.) OR we welcome your ideas for interesting destinations.
